Saute until transparent and then add crushed garlic. Cut them into small cubes. Heat 1.5 tbsp oil in a kadai and add sliced onion. Add Chana dal, chopped turai, turmeric powder and 1 1/2 cup of water in a Pressure cooker. Add 2 – 3 tbsp water, spice powders (ingredients numbered 5), chopped tomatoes and fry for a few minutes until oil separates. Instructions Peel ridge gourd and slit into lengthwise. Pressure cook chana dal with little water and turmeric powder. Chop ridge gourd into 1-inch sized chunks. Peel the spin and wash the ridge gourd. Cook for a few minutes until their raw smell is gone.
