Jesus ate broiled fish to prove he was not a ghost after the resurrection. The origin of this thought is highly contested. It happened this way: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. Their occupation of catching fish changed into a mission of fishing for people. (John 21:9-14 RSV) Several things here have parallels in the work of fishing for men. When the Lord does something, He doesn't do it half-way.
